PANASONIC - AHEAD OF ITS TIME
PANASONIC - The large Japanese conglomerate entered the e-bike business back in 1996 and was thus ahead of its time. The pedelecs with a 26-volt drive became bestsellers. It took until 2012 for PANASONIC to return to the now revitalised market with a 36-volt motor. The X series was convincing and in 2016 PANASONIC came up with an innovation: The so-called "Multi Speed Assist System" was installed in the X-drive, an internal 2-speed gearbox for a more efficient transmission. Also available for S-pedelecs with 45 km/h. The G-drives have been on the market since 2020.
WHICH PANASONIC MOTORS ARE THERE AND WHICH ONE DO I HAVE?
The name of the motor manufacturer is usually on the housing of the drive or in the enclosed data sheet. PANASONIC motors can easily be divided into three groups. The old 26/36 volt series was followed by the X series. Since 2020, the G drives have been on the market, some of which are also available for S-pedelecs. At SIP Scootershop, we offer the Badass Box 4 for all motors, but please note that this only makes pedelecs up to 25 km/h faster.
