Spare parts for LML Star Lite 125-150 CVT Automatica

With the Star Lite 125 CVT/Automatica, LML brought a modernised smallframe version onto the market, which was built somewhat narrower. There was no longer a choke button or petrol tap, and the bike was started with the electric starter or kick starter. The air-cooled 125cc four-stroke produced a maximum of 9.2 hp and a torque of 8.7 Nm. The automatic CVT transmission with pulleys, V-belts and centrifugal clutch is built by the Italian company Adler. The carburettor also comes from the home of the Vespa: Dell'Orto supplies the electronically controlled mixer with throttle sensor and the matching control unit.

The Indian manufacturer LML continued to produce this scooter, initially with a manual gearbox, even after the collaboration with Piaggio, whereupon the Italians also relaunched the Vespa PX. This in turn prompted LML to convert the Star to a four-stroke engine with automatic transmission. Here read more about the history of LML in India. The Indian scooter roars through city traffic smoothly and with good control. Compared to the classic models, the engine sits more centrally in the chassis, which gives the Automatica safe handling. Nevertheless, the riding characteristics remain typical Vespa PX. However, there is no such thing as perfect straight-line stability by today's standards. The LML Star Lite 125 CVT/Automatica has no storage space under the seat, but there is the tank and the engine underneath. Smaller items can be stowed in the front compartment, as on the PX.

Variomatic: What is a CVT gearbox?

This is a continuously variable automatic transmission and the abbreviation CVT stands for "Continuous Variable Transmission", which translates into German as "continuously variable transmission ratio". This gearbox does not require any shift steps or interruption of traction. The narrow LML Star Lite 125 CVT/Automatica has the same variomatic as the PX-like LML Star 150 Automatica. It grew in size and works more smoothly than the Star 125cc.
