The small Modern Vespa models are all equipped with PIAGGIO 50 cc engines and are available as 2-stroke and 4-stroke models. Probably the largest tuning selection is available for the 2-stroke engine. This engine is also used in racing classes worldwide. In order to increase the efficiency and to comply with the various exhaust emission standards, the 4-stroke 50 cc PIAGGIO engine was given small updates in the course of production. The 4-stroke engine is therefore available as a 2-valve and 4-valve version. The main difference is self-explanatory, the number of valves and the associated valve savings in the piston.
