Conversion kits: Chassis for Modern Vespa - at SIP Scootershop
Modifying the chassis of a Modern Vespa may be necessary for various reasons. The more powerful the engine, the better the chassis must be. Older scooters are disadvantaged by the manufacturing process. As a result, touring is not much fun even with original engine sets. Appearance is a factor that should not be neglected. With the conversion options, the scooter can be made to stand out from the crowd and attract attention, which is also not to be neglected.
For which Modern Vespas are there conversion kits for the chassis?
Chassis conversions are very special and not possible for every Modern Vespa. In order to facilitate the clarity of this complex topic, we recommend limiting the search to your vehicle type. For example, if you are looking for a conversion kit for a Vespa GTS Super, select "Modern Vespa" as the category and "Vespa GTS/GTS Super/GTV/GT60 250-300" as the vehicle type. Now you will only see the products that come into question for this Vespa.
These Modern Vespas can be converted
Vespa GTS/GTS Super/GTV/GT 60/GT/GT L 125-300 cc
from 12" to 13" and up to 140 mm width possible. Instead of the standard 130 tyre, a 140/60-13" tyre can now be fitted at the rear. It has never been easier to legally put a conversion to 13" and wide tyres on the road.
What chassis conversions are available for Modern Vespa?
Conversion to 13" front & rear
The GTS rides on 12", which is good and sporty, but also just standard and doesn't knock anyone's socks off. With the conversion to 13", a chassis optimisation is achieved that is not only a visual treat, but also a pleasure to ride. The most stress-free conversion is possible with the SIP 13" rim with ABE even for 140 mm wide tyres.

Customers ask - SIP answers
"Can I do the conversions myself or do I need a specialist workshop to do it?"
As with most conversions on modern Vespas, you can do it yourself. The conversions are not so complicated that you need to be trained as a bike mechanic. Many of the parts are ready to install and we also offer tutorial videos (see below). However, you shouldn't have two left hands. But the beauty of Vespa and customising is that it's model building in a big way. If you are unsure, lack tools or simply don't have the time, we recommend going to a tuning workshop. We can also recommend one if you don't know any in the area.
