Classic Vespas are often subject to the vagaries of the weather. From snowstorms to desert storms, they are hit by everything. The seats in particular suffer greatly. They fade, become porous and eventually crack. The foam soaks up moisture and makes for a wet backside every time you ride. So it's time for a new seat. Single saddles give the scooter the typical look of the 50s and 60s and are also suitable for many wideframe models on which they were not fitted as standard. The high seating position can be a little unfamiliar at first and give a slightly spongy ride. However, once you get used to it, you won't want to miss it.
If you find an old scooter in the barn, it is often the case that the frame of the seat or single saddle is still in good condition, but the cover has seen better days. Scratches and holes in the surface are charming on a vintage scooter, but a worn cover just doesn't look cool anymore. That's why you should replace it with a new one. Single saddles & seat cushions
In the past, it was common for the driver and passenger of classic Vespas to sit on a single saddle or seat cushion. It was not until the Vespa 150 GS and later model series that seats were fitted as standard or were available as replacement parts from PIAGGIO.
Single saddles were only fitted as standard on the V50/90 1° series models. If you have not fitted a single saddle as standard, you will need a luggage rack to lock it in place.
Single saddles for Wideframe models are only available in top quality. Here we deliberately defy the cheap repros from Asia and trust, for example, in the sensitive feeling for original optics of PASCOLI.
Unless otherwise stated, all singel seats for Largeframe are made of high-quality, weatherproof imitation leather. The singel seats from the original PIAGGIO and PASCOLI accessories range differ only in the shape of the stirrup and the number of rivets.
Seat - Standard
Seats for classic Vespa, for example from PASCOLI, NISA or PIAGGIO, stand out due to their high-quality workmanship and correspond almost completely to the original in shape and colour. For all those who prefer something a little cheaper and for whom an original seat is too expensive, we offer all common seats from the replacement parts as replicas. These differ from the original only in minor details such as the seam pattern and the thickness of the foam mat for the spring core. Seat Sport
No other frame parts change the look of your classic Vespa as quickly and effectively as a sport seat. They accentuate the streamlined shape of the bodywork and close nicely with the rear. They are attached to the mounting points of the original seat and can be mounted in just a few steps. We offer sport seats for small and large frames in different versions. As a monoposto or for two-man operation; classically made of leather with a foam core for adequate seating comfort or with a sporty low seating position for optimum handling and an ultra-direct driving feel.

For wideframe models, PIAGGIO preferred to use dark green and black; for later largeframe models, black and dark blue were inserted. If you prefer something cheaper and the 1:1 original look is not too important, you can opt for the Eco version. This often differs only in small details such as the course of the stitching or the number of rivets. Unless otherwise stated, all covers are made of high-quality, weatherproof imitation leather. Although single saddles do not differ greatly at first glance, pay attention to the following points before ordering the cover:

Seat restraints & back rests
A Classic Vespa suitable for two-person use must be fitted with a seat grab rail or grab strap. This bar allows the pillion rider to hold on during acceleration so that he or she is not thrown backwards during take-off. SIP SPARE PARTS has re-produced some mounting brackets as the original production has been discontinued. This new edition also has different colours displayed under the SIP STYLE logo. Back rests increase riding comfort immensely, especially during longer journeys.
