Seats, swing saddles, seat covers & accessories for Vespa and Lambretta
- at SIP Scootershop
Mostly Lambrettas, Classic and Modern Vespas are exposed to the elements. From blizzards to desert storms, just about anything sweeps them away. In the process, the seats in particular take a beating. They fade, become porous and eventually tear. The foam soaks up moisture and gives you a wet backside every time you ride. Then, at the latest, it's time for a new seat. Swing saddles , on the other hand, convey the typical 50s and 60s look and also look good on many models on which they were not fitted as standard. The high seating position is a little unusual at first and gives a slightly spongy feeling. But once you get used to it, you don't want to miss it.
Often, the seat bench or swinging saddle frame of a 30-year-old barn find is still in good shape, but the upholstery is past its prime. Scuffed surfaces and torn seams are not cool even on a patina box and should be replaced with a new seat cover or swinging s addle cover. Replaced in a few easy steps, the seat or swinging saddle will look like new.
How do I find the right seat or swing saddle for my scooter?
At the moment, you are in the general section on seats and swing saddles. However, you can narrow down your search by selecting the model above, for example "Modern Vespa" or "Lambretta", depending on the scooter for which you are looking for a seat, saddle or cover. Then only the articles that are suitable for this are displayed. By selecting the filter, for example "seat cushion", you can further refine the display. If you remove the category filter, e.g. "Classic Vespa", the entire range for seat cushions is displayed. the entire range of seats and swinging saddles is displayed. This is always helpful if you are not sure what kind of scooter you are travelling with.

Swing Saddles & Seat Cushions
On classic Vespas it was usual for the rider and pillion to sit on a swinging saddle or seat cushion. Bench seats were only fitted as standard on the 150 GS and later model series or were only available as accessories from PIAGGIO. Swing saddles convey the typical 50s, 60s look and also look good on many models on which they were not fitted as standard. The high seating position is a little unusual at first and gives a slightly spongy feeling, but once you get used to it, you won't want to miss it. We recommend combining it with the matching colour seat cushion or rear swinging saddle. Rear swinging saddles were never fitted as standard, but they offer a nice alternative to seat cushions.
Bench seat - standard
Bench seats are probably one of the most used parts of the Vespa. In addition to the normal wear and tear caused by daily use, they are also exposed to the elements, fade, become porous and eventually tear. However, wear and tear is not always the reason for replacement. On most models, the seat benches can be easily interchanged in a few simple steps, thus changing the appearance of the Vespa quickly and easily.
Bench Sport
No other add-on part can change the look of your Vespa as quickly and effectively as a sports bench seat. The idea of rounding off the sporty look of the Vespa with a flowing rear end dates back to 1951, when the "Vespa Sei Giorni", a real racing model, came onto the market. Our own SIP sports seats are among our very first products! They were and still are a flagship of SIP Scootershop and our special pride. The prototype was already created in 1993 with a lot of blood and spatula in the catacombs of the first SIP shop. Since then, our sports seats have adorned countless custom scooters from the last two decades.
Seat covers, seat pads & accessories
Often, the swinging saddle frame of a 30-year-old barn find is still in good order, but the cover is usually past its prime. Scuffed surfaces and torn seams are not cool, even in a patina case, and should be replaced with a new swing saddle cover. Changed in a few easy steps, the saddle looks like new. Unless otherwise stated, all covers are made of high-quality, weatherproof imitation leather.
Seat support bracket & backrests
A Vespa or Lambretta that is approved for two-person use requires a seat retaining bar or a seat retaining strap. The pillion rider can hold on to it and does not do a backwards roll during a quick start. Some grab rails have been reissued as SIP spare parts, as many of these have been discontinued by the original manufacturers. These new editions also allow for other colours, which are then indicated under the SIP Style logo. Backrests increase riding comfort considerably, especially on long tours. Unfortunately, these accessories are not available for scooters and maxi scooters.
