Front badges - for Vespa & Lambretta at SIP Scootershop
The badges on the front legshield are the icing on the cake of every Vespa and Lambretta. The variety here is enormous. There is one for almost every scooter model. There are also badges in different colours and materials. Everyone will find something to suit their taste.
The badges differ depending on the scooter model. We have badges for classic Vespas up to 1948, Motovespa, Allstate, Messerschmidt, ACMA, Hoffmann and Lambrettas, but also for all Modern Vespa, many Ape, Scooter and Maxiscooter.
You can get a good overview by either loosening your vehicle type filter or entering the search term "front legshield lettering" in the search.
If you are not sure which scooter model you ride or which is the right badge, you can check the following criteria:
Attachment
Dimensions
Material
Name
Different fastenings for the badges
The badges are either mounted with rivets , in which case we specify their number and thus the number of holes in the badge. If they are mounted with securing plates, then we describe the number of pins and their hole spacing. This can also be straight or offset. If the hole spacing is offset, the position of the badge on the legshield is diagonal. Some badges were originally only glued. Others, like the Vespa U, were only painted on.
The badges on the newer models are usually made of synthetic resin and are self-adhesive. Apart from the attachment, the badges differ in length, width and thickness.
The right colour makes the difference for badges
In the 1950s, the badges on Vesps were chrome-plated or painted green, followed by the midnight blue - almost black-looking ones. From the mid-60s, many models were fitted with polished aluminium. If you want to do a restoration, look for the "Note 1 - true to original restoration". These come from elaborate small series. We carry inexpensive versions under the notes "Note 1- perfect repair". These are then e.g. black, instead of midnight blue or instead of metal self-adhesive, these are only stickers.
Sometimes we also have colour variations that did not exist originally, but still fit nicely with some paintwork. We then mark these as "Accessory - very nice" to avoid confusion.
