CIF - From the cellar to the big hall
Ferrigno Giuseppe worked as a stockist for motorbike spare parts before he took the plunge into self-employment in 1959. In a small cellar on the eastern outskirts of Milan, the company "Ferrigno Giuseppe ricambi moto" was founded. He specialised in parts for Moto Guzzi, Iso, Parilla and, of course, Vespa and Lambretta. Ferrigno Giuseppe caught the boom around the two-wheelers and the business flourished.
Of course, the cellar was soon too small and in 1967 Ferrigno Giuseppe not only changed the name to "Costruzioni Ingranaggi Ferrigno" (CIF), but also moved into a 500 m² building in Cologno Monzese. And also the times as a mere dealer for accessories and spare parts were over. CIF became a manufacturer and specialised in components for motorbikes. Son Pietro initially helped out in the business on an irregular basis, but after completing his studies in 1984, he joined the company completely.
The success continued and led to another move in 1989; now the total area of the dealer and manufacturer was already 2,500 m². Today, CIF markets its products in many countries around the world and is known as a renowned contact for mopeds, motorbikes and, of course, scooters.
