BREMBO - For more than 60 years, BREMBO has been a recognised innovator in high-performance braking systems worldwide. BREMBO - from a workshop to a company

It was 1961 when Emilio Bombassei, the father of the current Chairman, opened a small mechanical workshop near Bergamo. Three years later, the first Italian brake discs for the aftermarket were produced here. Among the customers at that time was Alfa Romeo. From 1972 BREMBO was the original equipment supplier for Moto Guzzi, but the accolade came again three years later when Enzo Ferrari entered into a cooperation with BREMBO in Formula 1. The beginning of an unprecedented collaboration with motorsport in almost every form.

Many years of success followed, culminating in 1995 when the company was floated on the Milan stock exchange. In the new millennium, the signs point to expansion and BREMBO expands its business fields in Brazil, China, India, Poland, USA, Mexico and the Czech Republic, among others. More brands are acquired, new production facilities are opened and prestigious names such as Aston Martin, Audi, Bentley, Bugatti, Daimler, Ferrari, General Motors, Lamborghini and Porsche are among the customers.

Since 2007, the showpiece project has been the research and development centre in the Kilometro Rosso Technology and Science Park. Engineers, planners and product specialists work here hand in hand with the brightest minds at the university in Bergamo.
