Vespa World Days 2024 in Pontedera
We already announced a while ago that the Vespa World Days 2024 would be held in Italy, following last year's event in Interlaken, Switzerland. Now the time has come: Pontedera, a city with historical significance for the Vespa, as its production began here in 1946, will host the Vespa World Days 2024, which will take place from 18 to 21 April. This event attracts Vespa enthusiasts from 55 countries, bringing thousands of Vespas from all over the world. Over four days, the programme offers a series of exhibitions, events and shows that celebrate the passion for Vespa.
8.000 Vespas at the parade
Held for the first time in Pontedera, this edition of Vespa World Days promises to be one of the biggest since the first event in Paris in 1954. It will be an international gathering with members of Vespa clubs from a variety of countries, including Australia, Canada, Japan, the USA and many more. The number of participants for the Vespa Parade on 20 April, the highlight of the rally, quickly reached its limit with 8,000 places.
The Piaggio Museum pays tribute to the history of the Vespa and its early internationalisation with its "Vespa all over the World" exhibition. With rare original models and historical material, the exhibition offers an insight into the worldwide popularity and spread of the Vespa. In addition to the exhibition, meet & greet events at the museum will allow visitors to interact directly with people who were involved in the development of the Vespa.
During the event weekend, the Piaggio factory will also open its doors to the public, and the Vespa Village on the Piazza del Mercato will be the centre for exhibitions, culinary offerings and official Vespa merchandise. Other events such as the Concorso di Eleganza and the Vespa Trophy awards ceremony complete the programme.
The Vespa boutique in the city centre will be open during the rally and will offer exclusive Vespa collections for sale. For the duration of the event, Pontedera will be transformed into an extensive event venue, with photography and art exhibitions and a film festival featuring Vespa in the lead role in films such as "Luca", "Roman Holiday" and "Enrico Piaggio, an Italian dream".
