Vespa road trip in Ibiza

When you think of Ibiza, you first think of night clubbing, David Guetta and, of course, fantastic Mediterranean beaches. But if that alone is too boring for you and you want to discover more of the beautiful Balearic island, we recommend hiring a Vespa. On two wheels you can feel the wonderful smell of pine trees and herbs much more intensely than in an air-conditioned car and there are no parking problems either - an advantage that should not be underestimated, especially in the high season from June to August.

The crossing from Ibiza harbour to Formentera is recommended and possible with a Vespa up to 125cc at no extra charge. I managed to cover more than 150 kilometres in one day on Ibiza's little sister island, with a total length of just 25 kilometres. Tip for sunset with a sangria cava in your hand: Restaurant Es Moli de Sal

A great travel guide is "My Ibiza" by Hjordis Fogelberg, which is unfortunately out of print. However, it is still available at the airport or in bookshops on Ibiza and the the Facebook page gives good tips.

In general, the roads on Ibiza are well maintained and in good condition. However, prolonged dryness and dust make them slippery and of course there are endless bends that harbour corresponding dangers - but are of course also wonderful to ride on a Vespa.

Where can you hire a Vespa in Ibiza? Our customer Carlos from Legends Bike Ibiza is a very good address and he also offers guided tours of the island which are highly recommended. They take you to places you wouldn't expect to find on Ibiza and certainly wouldn't have found on your own.

A Vespa LX 125 for a week costs approx. 190 €.
