Vespa meeting in Colombia
Miguel González has sent us a report that once again shows how widespread the passion for the Vespa and other scooters is around the globe. His story is set in Colombia and tells of the most beautiful thing in the world: rides and meetings with other scooter riders. We would like to thank Miguel and wish him lots of fun and enjoyment on his Vespa, Lambretta or other two-wheeler.
Miguel: From 16 to 19 August, La Mesa in the department of Cundinamarca hosted the XVIII. The event opened its doors to hundreds of people and attracted around 200 scooters from different cities and countries. Among the participants were international delegations from Mexico, Ecuador, Peru, Venezuela, Puerto Rico and El Salvador. All shared a passion for scooters and a bond with those who enjoy not only the two-wheelers, but also the laughter, dancing and the many activities that an event like this offers.
We were able to secure Super Motori as a special sponsor and managed to organise many prizes for the participants - an achievement that would not have been possible without the support of SIP Scootershop. This brand helps to keep many of the classic and modern scooters going, giving them even more personality and beauty with each installed Replacement Parts. This led to the introduction of the "Unmissable Scooter" category award two years ago, in the frame of this meeting. But this is just one of many awards, as the riders themselves are also honoured here.
"It's worth mentioning that the people in La Mesa, Cundinamarca, just two hours from Bogotá, the capital of Colombia, were thrilled by the parade of our beautiful classic Vespas. These included a Spanish MotoVespa, one of the few classic Vespas exported to Colombia, as well as the popular Vespa PX, several Vespa Pluses and even a "Vespeada" Plus, which was equipped with high-quality accessories and spare parts. Several Lambrettas, many modern Vespas and of course the chrome-plated Scomadi called "Robotina", which attracted a lot of attention, were also part of the spectacle.
We experienced one of the meetings, which we were particularly enthusiastic about because we are passionate Vespistas ourselves. We enjoyed it to the fullest and are sure that those who were previously unfamiliar with SIP Scootershop are now familiar with the brand and have taken home a nice souvenir. Our goal at Super Motori is to preserve and maintain classic scooters without sacrificing the usual quality, so that people in Colombia can buy spare parts and Replacement Parts just as easily as if they were in Germany."
