Vespa-Corso FC Augsburg
On Saturday 27 April, FC Augsburg organised a Vespa corso as a special item on the programme for its traditional match day. This event was held in honour of the regional league championship of the 1973/74 season and also served to preserve the culture of tradition in Augsburg, which is known as the "northernmost city in Italy". The meeting point for the participants was at 10.30 Clock in Maximilianstraße, between the Café "Picnic" and the Herkulesbrunnen. An hour later, at 11.30 Clock, the procession of around 350 scooters set off together. It was a fantastic sight, which also delighted many onlookers at the roadside and made their eyes light up.
The ride ended at around 12:45 Clock at the WWK Arena, where there was already a festive atmosphere. The temperatures played along excellently and gave the participants and spectators a radiant day. FC Augsburg's Head of Marketing, Danny Schmolke, commented on the weather during his speech as "1a Sahne", hitting the nail on the head. Maximilianstraße was full of life that day: The rattling of the two-strokes mingled with the enjoyment of espresso and cornettos and made for beaming faces among those present.

SIP Scootershop not only gave the participants a goodie bag, but also a few fellow riders on the corso through the Fugger city. Christian summarised his impressions: "Finally some decent weather again and it was impressive that so many scooters took part in the tour." Christian brought us a large number of photos and a video.
The day was also a major cause for celebration for FCA President Markus Krapf, as he expressed in his address to the Vespa fans. A church blessing for the scooters by Father Groll from the Holy Trinity parish church rounded off the very eventful day. The only downer of this successful event was the football match in the sold-out WWK Arena, in which FC Augsburg lost 3-0 to Werder Bremen, leaving most of the 30,660 spectators baffled.
