SIP Scootershop Corona Update on our own behalf

Created by Ralf Jodl at 17:03 on March 26, 2020

Dear customers,

on 4 January first news reports appeared on 44 people suffering from mysterious pneumonia. At that time, it was not known whether the disease was caused by bacteria, viruses, fungi or toxins. From this small breeze in central China a worldwide monster storm has developed, of consequences no one can escape from. We all observe the development of the corona virus every day. These are strange times. We follow the recommendations of the authorities and take preventive measures to protect our fellow human beings. The health of our customers and employees has top priority and is at the forefront of all our considerations.

shipping still in full operation

We would like to give you a look behind the scenes, how we at SIP Scootershop are dealing with the crisis, how our customers and suppliers all over the world are doing.

First of all we reorganized a lot of processes in our company. Our SIPERIA had to be closed, for us from the team as well as for guests from outside. Tenant Salvatore, who runs another Italian restaurant in Landsberg, supplies us with the necessary calories in the form of pizza and pasta. We have divided our warehouse team into groups that work strictly separated from each other. In case of infection the whole team should not be affected. Distance between all of us is the order of the day anyway. Actually it is very familiar and friendly in our company in mormal times, people talk and hug each other - to do without that still feels very strange. At all office workplaces we have built protected "cages" from cardboard boxes to protect the employees in the best possible way. A number of employees now work from home in their home office and it works surprisingly well. If you call us at the moment the chances are good that you are mot ending up here in Landsberg but in a private living room.... There are special safety precautions in contact with the delivery services and suppliers, disinfectants are available, how to wash your hands properly everybody knows anyway since a while.

How are our suppliers, customers and business partners doing?

After the latest governmental decree we will be open only three days a week until April 3rd, in order to ship out sales orders. All other corporate departments will be closed. We hope that this further restrictive measure allows our hospitals to recover some beds and some tranquillity. For the moment we and our staff are well and we have not been directly affected by Coronavirus. Thank you for all the support that you are giving us and especially for the prayers, which perhaps are the best thing we can do right now to defeat this invisible monster.

Best Regards from Alessandra and Andrea

MALOSSI Bologna, Italy

I can say only two simple words: thank you. Centauro is closed due to the Government restrictions but I have been working from home since the beginning of March. I am alone, far from my family, but with skype, whatsapp, duo I can see daily my daughter, wife and also parents. It is a big sacrifice to me but I am doing it because I am sure that also my little actions can make the situation better. I have always tried to establish a good personal partnership and friendship with all people, prior to business and your e-mail shows that my goal has been reached. Sometimes is hard to work, sometimes I think that it would be better to leave this job, when you see that your efforts are not understood or ignored, but I can’t as I would leave friends as you are. Thank you for your prayers. They are only words but they can move mountains. I also wish you all the best.

Regards

Luca, CENTAURO, Milano Italy

POLINI family are all healthy but I do not hide you that the situation is more dramatic than you can read on the newspaper. I live in Nembro, the small village that is now famous because of the highest number of deaths, more than 100 people in 10 days. A couple of Polini’s workers are in the hospitals, others at home in quarantine.... At the moment we cannot do anything else than stay at home and pray. The company is still closed hoping that the situation may change soon and open again. We will come back stronger and ready to supply our customers. I thank you again for your words. Be careful and stay healthy.

Kind regards

Roberta, POLINI, Bergamo Italy
