Glemseck 101, August 2024: the fastest Vespas & Lambrettas among themselves
Glemseck 101 - the biggest motorbike event in Europe - allowed classic scooters to take part in its 1/8-mile race for the first time last year. With around 40,000 spectators and its race for custom motorbikes, Glemseck 101 is an event in a class of its own. The scooter show was so well received in 2023 that the "Rockt Roller" class was given more time and a prominent place on Saturday, the day with the highest attendance, for 2024.

Vespas & Lambrettas among themselves
At around 4 Clock it was finally the turn of the "Rockt Scooters", at prime time on Saturday in front of the impressive backdrop of Glemseck 101. Even the most experienced pilots could see the tension. Everything was ready for a spectacular show. We, the scooter riders, had managed to lure the currently strongest and fastest racing scooters in the world to Glemseck 101. The field of riders included 2x over 80 hp, 2x over 70 hp and 5x over 50 hp. The races began. As the Lambretta bullet from Casa Performance, piloted by Filo, shot along the drag strip at 15,000 rpm on the rear wheel, the grandstand stood and celebrated.
Almost like in a Hollywood film, the favourites actually met in the final: Filo on the impressive high-tech two-cylinder 250 cc 84 hp Casa Lambretta against the 85 hp Egig 407-powered black VNA Racer of Jesco Schmidt. When the chequered flag fell, both scooters got off to a very good start. Jesco was only able to gain a lead of around 1-2 metres in first gear. A slight wheelie from Filo cost him a few metres. Jesco's flat, long Vespa transferred the power to the road better, and the defending champion won. Third place went to André Jüterbock from the SIP team.
