Events for Vespa & Lambretta 2024 - Part 1
We have been in the scooter scene for a long time now, but every year we are delighted to receive so many reports, photos and videos from all over the world. Vespa and Lambretta enthusiasts never tire of organising their events and meetings, and the number seems to be increasing rather than decreasing. The iconic two-wheelers connect people across all national borders, and we will continue to support many activities in the coming year. But SIP Scootershop is also organising something new in 2025: On 31 May 2025, we will be holding our popular Open Day. And just a few weeks later, on 5 July 2025, we invite you to the legendary Joyride & Aperitivo - dates that you should definitely make a note of. In any case, we hope to see many of you again next year. See you soon!
We will publish the second part of this review next year.
APRIL 2024
Hedonism, Unforgiven Scooter Club, California, USA

A popular event celebrated a new edition in 2024: "In 2023, the Unforgiven Scooter Club made a special comeback. After a break since 2008, the legendary scooter get-together "Hedonism" was brought back to life. With a grandiose new start, it quickly became clear that the event was not only back, but also had the best prerequisites to become even better every year. An important innovation this year was that the campsite was reserved for both Friday and Saturday for the first time to offer participants even more flexibility and comfort.
The first Scooterists arrived as early as Friday afternoon to set up their tents and relax in the beautiful scenery. The club took care of the organisation on site and prepared music, light and firewood for an atmospheric evening. Particularly impressive was the arrival of some members of the Diablos Scooter Club, who travelled from Los Angeles on their scooters. The Pharaoh's Scooter Club from Utag was also represented.
On Saturday morning, a number of scooterists took a ride together from the campsite to the meeting point in Bakersfield, California. The route led through the picturesque bends along the Kern River. In true relaxed "scooter timing" style, the ride started a little later than planned - a tradition that didn't really surprise anyone. From Bakersfield, the route headed north-east through the hills to the first stop in Glenville, California. After a short break, we continued on to higher elevations, through switchbacks and over the Sierra Mountains. The weather along the entire route was simply fantastic and made the journey an unforgettable experience. Back at the campsite, the participants were greeted with a BBQ, music, beer and a raffle. The meeting offered the perfect opportunity to escape the daily grind, enjoy impressive rides together and socialise with like-minded people. One thing was clear: neither bike models nor style issues mattered here - only the joy of riding and good company made the event special.
Special thanks go to everyone who supported this event. Without the participants, this meeting would not have been the same. A big thank you also goes to the sponsors who made a significant contribution to the success of the event: SIP Scootershop, LeoVince, Relco London Clothing, Dr Strange Records, Riot Seeds, Howie's Michelada, Jim Lomas Exhaust and Steven Ruiz from Pharaoh's Scooter Club who provided the whiskey. Looking back, the meeting was a huge success and we can't wait to get together again next year. Thank you to everyone who attended - we look forward to seeing you again!
MAY 2024
Merenbeekjesrit, Vespa Club Merelbeke, Belgium
In 2024, the Vespa Club Merelbeke organised organised the "Merenbeekjesrit" event and was an impressive success. There were a total of 140 pre-registrations for the Vespa ride and 90 additional registrations on the day of the event, resulting in a total of around 400 visitors. The response from participants to the first ride organised by the Vespa Club Merelbeke was consistently positive.
The great success of the event is due above all to the support of the sponsors and the tireless efforts of the volunteers. With the experience gained from this year, the club is looking forward to organising an even more attractive and unforgettable ride on 18 May 2024!
Old Switch: Anniversary meeting of the VC RheinSchalter, Cologne

In 2014, three friends at the Vespa World Days in Mantua came up with the idea of founding a casual community of Switch scooter riders in Cologne - without any club pressure, but with fun, nice tours and relaxed people. This is how the "RheinSchalter". Ten years later, well over 100 Vespa fans meet regularly on Sundays at Rudolfplatz, plan trips, help each other and enjoy their passion together. The motto remains unchanged to this day: little stress, lots of fun, little plastic, lots of Plates.
To celebrate the tenth anniversary of RheinSchalter, the event was held at Motorworld Rheinland at Butzweilerhof in Ossendorf. The event kicked off on Friday evening with an informal get-together, where some had already travelled by camper and scooter. On Saturday, the grounds filled up with around 150 participants from Germany, Belgium and Luxembourg. After breakfast in the historic Fokker-27, several groups formed to explore Cologne, the surrounding area and the Bergisches Land region in glorious scooter weather (sunshine instead of rain). In the afternoon, everyone returned in a good mood, presented their vehicles and exchanged ideas before the evening ended with good food, music and a party atmosphere in the new "Motorworld Inn Event Garage".
Sunday began with another breakfast together and a short morning trip to the Rhine ferry in Langel. There, sausages, coffee and pleasant conversations beckoned. Back at the Butzweilerhof, a large raffle with over 70 prizes - donated by sponsors such as SIP Scootershop, VCVD and dedicated RheinSchalter members - awaited the participants. The crowning glory of the weekend was the slow-motion race on the historic tarmac. Here, club member Georg won a Piaggio Ciao donated by "Chief Technical Officer" Tazz and was warmly applauded.
The organisers and the leading triumvirate of the RheinSchalter - Tazz, Heiko and Kris - drew a satisfied conclusion. The anniversary offered perfect conditions, a fantastic location, a variety of rides, intensive encounters within the Vespa community and an incomparably relaxed atmosphere. Who knows - maybe there will be a sequel in 2026. Old Switch forever!
X Vesparoth, Rota, Spain

This weekend, the city hosted the X Vesparoth, a Vespa meeting attended by enthusiasts from various regions of Andalusia. This special event was organised by the Vespa Club Rota and offered participants a varied programme. In addition to concerts and rides through the city, a visit to the Rota naval base was an absolute highlight - a rare opportunity that was greatly appreciated by many of the Vespa fans who travelled to the event. The picturesque Chipiona lighthouse was also visited as part of the tour. Along the way, the guests were offered drinks and snacks at various points along the route and in the town of Rota, which ensured a good atmosphere throughout.
Particularly impressive was the gathering of the numerous Vespas, which provided a unique visual experience and a lively flair throughout the municipality. Deputy Mayor Esther García and her team in the municipal tourism department actively supported this initiative, attracting numerous Vespa enthusiasts to the town over the weekend.
The Vespa Club Rota would like to thank all participants, the Vespa clubs that travelled to the event and, last but not least, "Turismo en Vespa" for their good humour and commitment. This positive atmosphere made the organisation much easier, and the enjoyment of the event increased all the more. We would also like to thank the sponsors such as SIP Scootershop, the supporters, the town councils of Rota and Chipiona, the Policía Local de Rota, the Civil Defence of Chipiona and the media. They all contributed to the successful preparation, dissemination and realisation of the X Vesparoth.
Overall, this year's Vesparoth was a complete success, which was a lot of fun for everyone involved and is already creating anticipation for the next anniversary year.
JUNE 2024
35 years of Bremen Vespa friends

Robert has sent us the following report: "The Bremen Vespa Friends organised their thirty-fifth anniversary - a party in the middle of the city, at a sailing club right on the Weser. We had almost 90 weekend guests, 25 of whom camped directly on the premises. Our tour programme began on Friday evening with a sundowner through the harbour area, past the grain facility and a submarine bunker, and then led back to the site. In the evening there was an 80s disco with DJ Robbi - vinyl only, of course. Who needs MP3 anyway?
On Saturday, we started the city rally after a slight delay due to the rain. This took us to the north, to the large Valentin bunker, past Germany's second oldest airport and the Borgward memorial - directly in front of the Mercedes-Benz AG plant - to the industrial harbour in Hemelingen. There, with the support of some riders from the Vespa Sport Club, we had set up a course directly on the Weser.
After the rally is before the competition: a sailing club on the water naturally has a slipway. The tide was out at 5 Clock - perfect for a race track for our two Bobby Cars. Those who dared had a lot of fun. We had discussed the topic of changing clothes at length beforehand ... the bobby cars were tuned differently, by the way, just look at the SIP racer with Heidenau tyres. In the evening there was another vinyl party, this time with DJ Flemo and Cacey. There was plenty of soul until closing time and numerous guests - are they still called day guests in the evening? - from the surrounding area.
After breakfast on Sunday, it was time to leave and say goodbye. And: many people left their pegs in the ground so that the campsites were already marked out for the 40th anniversary. And many thanks to SIP Scooterschop for their support."
70 years of Vespa Club Tournai, Belgium
The chairman of the Vespa Club Tournaithe committee and all the members would like to thank you from the bottom of their hearts for your participation in our 70(+2)-year anniversary: it was a wonderful and successful weekend that exceeded all our expectations. Your presence, your smiles, the shared conversations, the togetherness, the joy of being together again, the desire to celebrate - all of this made this event something very special. Without you, it would not have been possible to experience such unforgettable moments.
Even the weather played along! The rain did briefly try to invite itself in, but we steadfastly refused to scan its QR code. Thank you, thank you, thank you to you all! Thanks to you, we will carry these wonderful memories in our hearts for a long time to come. We look forward to seeing you on the road again soon. Until then - stay healthy and keep riding your Vespa!
Raduno Vespe e Lambrette, Ruffio de Cesena, Italy
On 8 June, friends of these old two-wheelers met up to ride and celebrate together. We were happy to support this event with prizes for the raffle.
Mega Meet, Lelystad, Netherlands
Wouter reports on a successful event: "The Mega Meet 2024 was an unforgettable experience! With a mix of young and older people, whole families and groups of friends from Belgium, Germany, Croatia, Hungary and Italy, we had a fantastic day together. The goodie bags you contributed to were really well received. We are organising another event in June 2025 and hope to see you again, perhaps even with your own stand!
Over 1500 visitors, including 500 riders, enjoyed a day full of fun. The Mega Meet 2024 impressively demonstrated the strength of our community! Thank you for contributing to this success. We are already looking forward to the next edition in June 2025."
Vespa Days 2024, Debrecen, Hungary

We quote from the report of the tourism authority: "The vehicles caused quite a stir on the streets of Debrecen as they travelled from the Great Forest to Kossuth Square to line up in front of the Great Church.
At the parade organised by the Vespa Club Debrecen over 200 people from all over the country and abroad, including Sicily, Serbia and Slovakia, took part in the event organised by the Vespa Club Debrecen.
The participants were welcomed by Mayor László Papp. He emphasised that it was a fantastic sight to see so many Vespas in the city's main square. Deputy Mayor István Puskás and City Councillor Edina Szilágyi also took the opportunity to take the scooters for a spin. Many people admired the Vespas, took photos and even selfies with the vehicles. A fundraising campaign for the seriously ill boy Ádin Kneifel was also organised as part of the programme."
Vehicle meeting 2024, Wolfenbüttel
The annual Vespa festival took place in Wolfenbüttel on 22 June 2024. The event was organised by Timo Brenneke on behalf of his YouTube channel "Tin Companions". Around 300 Vespas and other two-wheelers gathered on the Schlossplatz square in Wolfenbüttel at the weekend in glorious sunshine. The atmosphere invited visitors to linger and gather information. The Schlossplatz was well attended: onlookers and interested parties were able to find out about projects and current trends and marvel at the iconic scooters. There really was everything. From custom conversions and project Vespas to very rare models and even Vespas converted to electric drive. Entertainment was provided by a live musician and culinary delights were available in the form of stalls. Pizza from the stone oven, Italian wine and piadina were very popular. Traders had the opportunity to sell used parts, sell merchandise or show off their craftsmanship. All in all, a festival for lovers of Italian flair with the aim of bringing the topic of "Vespa" closer to the general public. And all this in the centre of Wolfenbüttel. The next festival will take place on 28 June 2025. For the 5th anniversary, the Blechgefährten invite you again and look forward to numerous visitors!
1. Bocholt Vespa meeting, Bocholt
To mark the 10th anniversary of Vespa Freunde Bocholt, we opened our doors on the day of the event for the "1st Bocholt Vespa Meeting" and offered our guests a varied programme. Despite the rainy weather, numerous visitors found their way to us and ensured an all-round good atmosphere. Sausages, cakes and drinks were provided for the physical well-being. The open performance test stand was particularly popular: many customers took the opportunity to have the performance of their Vespa measured. Meanwhile, the little ones were able to let off steam on the bouncy castle.
Thanks to the support of our suppliers and sponsors, we were also able to hand out numerous giveaways to our guests at our wheel of fortune and after the test bench measurement. All in all, we can look back on a successful "1st Bocholt Vespa Meeting", at which all visitors - despite the rain - were in a great mood and we were able to celebrate our 10th anniversary in style.

JULY 2024
Vespereto, Rovereto sulla Secchia, Italy
We quote from the newspaper report sent to us by Team Vespereto: "The three Rovereto friends Manuel Zanella, Lorenzo Sgarbi and Andrea Waldner have once again hit the mark. Around 300 Vesperisti and lovers of vintage scooters took part in the second edition of Vespereto with their vehicles. On Saturday 6 July, from 5 Clock, the eagerly awaited meeting took place on the grounds of the Multiverso Park in Rovereto sulla Secchia, where you could admire the vehicles of all the participants, browse the vintage markets and test the performance of your own machines on a test bench. Between sandwiches, piadinas and good beer, there was also music with a DJ set and a performance by the band Cagne Pelose (Hairy Bitches). The three organisers were more than satisfied: "There were around 2,000 visitors, including many young people, and we are very happy about that.
Vespa Bummel 2024, Freiburg

The Vespa Club Freiburg reports on its homepage: "Keeping with tradition - the traditional Bummel 2024 organised by the Vespa Club Freiburg led around the Kaiserstuhl with international participation. Around 100 Vespista took the route under their wheels and mastered it brilliantly. Vespas from the early 1950s to the most modern models completed the 144 kilometres with flying colours.
Vespa clubs from near and far were welcomed, including participants from the Vespa Club Lörrach, Vespa Club Meran, Vespa Lounge Uster, the Rieders from Mackenheim with the "Paperinos". The Vespa Club Villingen-Schwenningen, a delegation from the Vespa Club Strasbourg "Escadrille des Cigognes", Vespisti Baden-Baden, the "Nordschwarzwälder Blechschaltroller", plus the "Scuderia Palatina", the Vespa Club Pforzheim and not forgetting the "Nimburger Muttis".
The little bit of rain at the end of the tour didn't really put anyone off, on the contrary, the cooling was more than welcome. Unfortunately, the planned regularity race on the Teningen kart track had to be cancelled for safety reasons due to the approaching rain - but "safety first". Of course, there were also trophies at the award ceremony and the stroll ended with an enjoyable party that we will remember for a long time to come."
Vesparada 2024, Czech Republic

Jan Sláma, President of the Vespa Club České středohoříwrites to us: "Thank you very much for your support of our VESPARADA 2024, which took place from 28 to 30 July 2024. The aim of the event was to bring together fans of the VESPA brand, introduce it to the general public ... and at the same time help a seriously ill girl.
Our event was attended by the vast majority of Vespa clubs from the Czech Republic, as well as participants from abroad. An important part of the event was a charity auction, during which we managed to raise more than 50,000 crowns for the rehabilitation of the sick Viktorka. Viktorka and her family were present in person, and Viktorka even took a seat on a Vespa herself.
The Saturday programme included a 100 km ride, lunch together, the charity auction and an evening cultural programme. The event was also attended by the President of the Vespa Club Czech Republic, Vítězslav Krížek, and the President of the Vespa Club Prague, Massimo Canepa. The latter is also the official representative of the SIP Scootershop in the Czech Republic. The mayor of Lovosice, where the event took place, was also present. The entire event was extremely well received by all participants."
Tour du Béarn en Vespa, France
Emmanuel President of the Scooter Club du Béarn provided us with information about the event: "The Tour du Béarn en Vespa is a time, speed and distance rally. Teams of three Vespas or Lambrettas take part in a competition in which the riders follow a road book, check in at four secret checkpoints and have to maintain an average speed of 40 km/h. The rally is organised by the Scooter Club du Béarn. The rally is organised by the Scooter Club du Béarn and naturally takes place in Béarn, a region in the south-west of France, close to the Basque Country.
The third edition of the Tour du Béarn en Vespa took place on 6 July 2024. Despite bad weather, the scooter riders covered a distance of 265 km, starting in Pau - in the rain, which became heavier as the day progressed. The route took them along roads made famous by the Tour de France in the Pyrenees, such as the Tourmalet Pass, which was unfortunately covered in fog. This year, the winning team was once again from the region, but one special feature was that they all rode Lambretta bikes.
The SC du Béarn would like to thank SIP Scootershop for their partnership, which is always greatly appreciated by the scooter riders."
10 years of Mosti's scooter workshop, Seekirchen, Austria
On the day of the anniversary celebration, the sun shone from an almost cloudless sky and, at 33 degrees, created a summery atmosphere. Around 200 guests had already arrived by lunchtime. After a somewhat quieter afternoon, more visitors flocked towards the evening as the temperatures dropped. The celebration developed into an exuberant party until the early hours of the morning.
First-class catering and a well-stocked bar, where both chilled refreshments and refreshing drinks were on offer, catered for the physical well-being of the guests. The atmosphere was excellent throughout: numerous "petrol talks" were held, the dynamometer was in constant use and generated a lot of interest among the scooter fans. We also presented eight different engine concepts, including performance diagrams and background information. The opportunity to test ride these concepts on site was taken up by many guests - and promptly led to several follow-up orders.
The merchandising articles provided by our partners, including SIP Scootershop, were available for guests to pick up free of charge and were almost completely sold. We would also like to express our sincere thanks for this. Looking back, the 10th anniversary celebration was a complete success and we look forward to continuing our successful collaboration with SIP Scootershop for the next ten years. Thank you very much!
