Christa Solbach - Miss Vespa from Germany
Christa Solbach began travelling the world on her Vespa at the tender age of 16 - conquering countries and hearts alike. At the end of her adventurous journey, she found herself in Rome. Her passion for motorised two-wheelers began when she was a passenger on a Lambretta, but the Vespa would ultimately shape her life. Wearing distinctive red Pants and full of adventurous spirit, she caused a stir at international Vespa meetings, for example in Barcelona or Vienna, where she was often the centre of attention as one of the few women among the many Vespa riders.
From Lambretta to Vespa
Initially, however, she was travelling on a Lambretta, but at the request of Ludwig Kurz, then Piaggio importer in Saarland, she swapped this for a brand new Vespa GL 125. The beginning of a long love story - not with Ludwig Kurz, but with the Vespa. in 1955, she was crowned Miss Vespa Saar.
Her travels took her through half of Europe. Last but not least, she also owes a visit to both Popes Benedict XVI and John Paul II to her Vespa. Today, Christa Solbach, who will soon be 90 years old, lives in the Vespa's home country: Italy.

In a generous 24 x 30 cm format, similar to the popular "Vespa Tecnica", the Book pays homage to Christa Solbach and her deep connection to the Vespa.
