Brake kit for Vespa GTS 125-300 models

By using a radial brake caliper, the braking values of a modern sports motorbike can be achieved. The advantage of this axle mount with the radial brake caliper is above all that the components are perfectly matched to the intended use and weight of the Vespa. Unlike some oversized aftermarket brake systems for the Vespa, the SIP PERFORMANCE axle mount with the matching brake calliper not only delivers decent braking power, but also a sporty race look.

The high-precision CNC-manufactured axle mount SIP PERFORMANCE is "Made in Italy" and fits FORMULA radial brake calipers.

The mounting allows the use of oversize brake discs, diameters of up to 260mm can be used with the help of suitable spacers. A recessed bleeder screw, part no. BRK00500, is required for brake discs from 250mm so that the rim cannot touch the brake calliper.

The installation of the original ABS or speed sensor is still possible, the installation of the original speedometer mechanics of the models up to 2013 is not possible, here it is necessary to convert to the digital speed sensor from KOSO. The axle mounts in both versions can also be fitted to Primavera/Sprint models. However, this requires conversion to a GTS front hub and Ø220mm brake disc.

The FORMULA RADIAL brake caliper, aluminium, 24 mm 4-piston, provides the appropriate deceleration.

If the conversion with axle mountings and the like is too complex for you, you can use the simpler brake kits brake kits.

The brake kit SIP PERFORMANCE is completely ready to install and ideally matched to the conditions of the Modern Vespa. The 4-piston monobrake caliper with enlarged piston and pad surface is torsionally stiff and significantly lighter than the original. We supply the matching CNC-milled aluminium adapter. This is precisely manufactured and allows the radial brake caliper to be mounted, thus achieving the braking values of a modern sports motorbike. The adapter allows the use of an oversize brake disc, diameters of up to 260mm can be used with the help of suitable spacers. A recessed bleeder screw, part no. BRK00500, is required for brake discs from 250mm so that the rim cannot touch the brake calliper.
As the brake caliper has an M8 mounting for the brake line, we supply a Ø10mm brake line adapter bolt suitable for the radial brake caliper, including sealing rings.
SIP-TIP: In order to be able to use larger brake discs, suitable adapters + screws are required (e.g. art. no. MVBRKA01 / MVBRKA02 / MVBRKA03). Do not forget to bleed the brake and change the brake fluid.

To ensure that the Vespa not only brakes properly at the front, we recommend the following as a supplement to the setup brake kit for the rear wheel:

A high-strength aluminium alloy is used as the basis for the CNC-milled SIP PERFORMANCE wheel hub . Due to the CNC machining and fine balance of the wheel hub as well as the extremely smooth-running bearings, you get a noticeably nicer concentricity compared to the original component. The wheel hub is suitable for PIAGGIO steering columns (e.g. MP3/GTS etc.) in combination with a brake disc with 6-hole mount and pitch circle diameter of 105mm.

For models up to 2013, the sprocket is required to drive the speedometer worm (item no. PI267818), models from 2014 onwards have a speed sensor integrated in the wiring harness as standard, here the sprocket is no longer required.

SIP-TIP: The screws for the brake disc (e.g. item no. 27114700) and the screws for the rim (item no. 14910400) should be replaced.
