75 years Vespa Club Pforzheim
No sooner had the first Vespa rolled off the production line in Pontedera in 1946 than the Italian cult scooter was already rolling through the streets of Pforzheim. One of the oldest Vespa clubs in Germany was founded there in April 1950: the Vespa Club Pforzheim. Just one year later, four members took part in the first international Vespa rally in Geneva. Further stops followed - whether Hamburg, Munich, Berlin or Paris - the Pforzheimers were there.
There were also major appearances in their home town. in 1959, the regional Vespa meeting South/West attracted 400 participants with 220 scooters. The club's acrobatics show in the 1960s, which was unique in Germany, became legendary. in 1962, the "German-French Vespa Meeting" was organised with 450 guests, followed by the international "Three-Country Meeting" in 1965.
In the following years, the club's reputation was cemented with major events: the 35th anniversary with a tournament and trial championship, the "German-International Meeting" in 1988 with 800 participants and the Eurovespa in 1992 with around 1000 Vespisti.
Michael Bell has headed the club since 1998. In 2000, the club celebrated 50 years of the Vespa Club Pforzheim with international guests, and the 60th anniversary was celebrated in 2010 with a club outing. in 2019, the club organised the 7th German Vespa Rally in Dürrn.

The 2025 anniversary weekend
From 16 to 18 May 2025, the Vespa Club Pforzheim celebrated its 75th anniversary with a three-day anniversary meeting in Kieselbronn. A good 200 vehicles - Vespas, motorbikes and other classics - gathered, as well as around 150 day guests from the region.
Participants travelled from all over Germany and abroad, from Vienna to Hamburg - many of them on the road in true Axle style. Particularly nice: both the youngest and the oldest guest (13 and 84 years old) also came to the festival on a Vespa.
A varied programme was on offer: live music on Friday evening, group rides and a small skills course organised by the VSCD on Saturday, plus a large Vespa carriage exhibition, a photo box and culinary specialities from the region. The honours for deserving members formed a festive highlight before the event came to a cosy close on Sunday with a musical morning pint.
Old acquaintances were refreshed and new friendships made at the bar, at the drinks trolley and in the sunshine. The Vespa Club Pforzheim proved once again how lively and passionate the scene still is, even after 75 years.
SIP Scootershop would also like to congratulate the club on this special anniversary - here's to another 75 years of Vespa passion in Pforzheim!
