30 years of SIP Scootershop
How time flies. Wasn't it only yesterday that we celebrated 25 years of SIP Scootershop and the day before yesterday our 20th anniversary? It's hard to believe that this year we can already look back on 30 years of SIP Scootershop . Many of you have been with us for many years and know our history. It is told in detail on our website and in the videos we made in 2019 and 2024.
AROUND THE WORLD
The last five years have been characterised by the global coronavirus pandemic, but thanks to our dedicated employees, loyal customers and reliable suppliers, we have survived without any major damage. The crisis hotspots on this planet also influence our business activities, as SIP Scootershop is not decoupled from global developments. On the contrary: CEO Ralf Jodl visited business partners and friends in the USA, Australia, Thailand and the Philippines in early 2024 to gain an overview of the current situation on the scooter market. Ralf summarises his Vespa & Lambretta World Tour: "Even though the scooter scenes and their demographics are very different from country to country, it was inspiring to experience the passion for Lambretta and Vespa on the different continents. This motivates us for the coming decades!"

ONLINE AND OFFLINE
What is SIP Scootershop currently focussing on? Our core business is and remains the service for our customers and the availability of thousands of items relating to modern and classic Vespa and Lambretta. We are also keeping an eye on the e-bike and E-Scooter markets and we will not ignore the boom in electric scooters. "Times are changing and customers' needs have changed over the years. SIP Scootershop has to adapt if we want to be equipped for the coming years," analyses CEO Alex Barth, "but that doesn't mean that our love for the old Vespas is growing cold." The product developers at SIP Scootershop have many projects in their drawers and on their hard drives. The company's own SIP Pordoi, SIP Performance, SIP Style and SIP Spareparts series remain important components in the range. New products appear almost daily and can be found in the News section on our website.
Our activities on YouTube are extremely successful, where SIP Scootershop TV enjoys great popularity. Around 50,000 subscribers are an obligation to continue producing high-quality content, as we have done in the 700 or so videos we have produced so far. Useful and instructive tutorials, product presentations and tuning instructions are presented alongside travel reports from our tours and the "Sexiest Workshops" and "Custom Scooter Creations" series. We are approaching 260,000 followers on Facebook and more than 100,000 on Instagram. "We will continue to expand our digital offerings," says Ralf, looking ahead, "including the blogs on our website. Still under construction is an extensive Scooter Model base. An online reference work where we would like to have all the scooter models in the world stored with all the information."

PEOPLE AND ENGINES
Personal contact with the scene and with customers has always been important to us. The Flagship store with adjoining Italian restaurant "Siperia" in Landsberg still serves as a contact point and meeting place for scooter riders from all over Germany and beyond. Once a month, friends of horsepower meet at our performance test bench, while connoisseurs can enjoy fine Italian food and drinks at the "Aperitivo" next door. it will be "loud and dirty" again this year at "Matscho Karatscho #3". On 27 July 2024, cross-scooters will once again race around our in-house track and provide a real spectacle. From April, our employees will be swarming out in all directions to visit scooter-related events and meetings in half of Europe. And last but not least, the Open Day on 18 May will be the highlight of the year, as we celebrate 30 years of SIP Scootershop with you.
Even after more than 30 years in the scooter scene, it's the people who keep Alex and Ralf going. It's the friendships, petrol talks and rides. "I'm still keen on the whole subject and am fascinated by the solidarity of scooter fans all over the world," says Ralf and his partner adds: "After three decades of SIP, I'm still keen on the latest parts, whether from small or large suppliers. Once you've been infected with the Vespa virus, you'll never let go of this passion."
