Innovation in style, engineering and security. The new SIP tubeless rim, successful and reliable.
This rim allows you to use tires without a tube. In case of a puncture a sudden air leak will be prevented, the air pressure will decrease slowly. Blown tires will be a thing of the past. So will valve tear offs or punctures due to tubes beeing trapped between the rims during assembly.
The SIP tubeless rim combines the advantages of a classic cast rim with a high production accuracy and quality. The design is a tubeless double hump rim. This hump prevents the tire from slipping into the rim well in case of a puncture. The rim rotation is very precise. The rim is aluminium cast and CNC machined. The surface finish is perfect. The valve is included and already mounted. The rims are produced to the ETRTO (European Tyre and Rim Technical Organisation) standards for tire and rim productions.
The rim is currently available in polished aluminium, black, black with polished edge and silver.
The Vespa rim is available in following sizes:
2.10-10: Perfect size for standard tires. The rim allows fitting tires from 3.00 up to 3.50-10.
2.50-10: Perfect size for 100`80 and 100`90 tires. Compared to a 2.10 inch rim the SIP rim will cause a minimal and therefore insignificant misalignment towards left side. If the rim is used on front and rear wheel, there is no misalignment. Then there is only a minimal eccentricity. The rim allows fitting tires from 3.00/ 3.50 up to 100/90-10.
3.00-10: The premier league of wider section tyre conversions! Our 3.00/10' size wider section tyre wheel is delivered including two aluminium sleeves that enable modification of the PX suspension fixings, front and rear. The necessary distance from the brake drum has already been considered in the design of these wheels, so eliminating the need for any spacers or rings! To compensate for the wheel being off the centreline of the scooter the pivot on the swing arm of the motor needs to be shortened by 1cm on the right hand side. The motor is so moved to the right. 130/70-10' or 120/90-10' tyres can be used with this conversion kit. They are delivered including SIP valves, caps and all necessary fastenings and washers etc..
The wide tyre rim comes with 2 aluminium motor swing-arm pivot spacers for PX80-150 and PX200. The pivot has to be shortened 1cm on the righthand side to make sure, that the tyre runs in line with the front one perfectly. Tires up to 130`70-10 or 120`90-10 can be used with this rim.
Attention: Please contact a qualified workshop for accurate and damage-free tyre fitting (tire tool and appropriate fitting basis highly recommended). By all means make sure to avoid any damage to the surface! A lot of tube-type (TT) tyres can also be used as tube-less (TL) tyres. When mounting the tyre, make sure to use mounting paste. If you use oil or other inappropriate lubricants, the tire won’t sit firmly on the rim. Danger! Make sure to always check clearance of engine and accessory parts! For easier mounting for the 3.00-10 version, mounting from the rear.
Conclusion: innovative rim, high-quality workmanship, additional security. This product has successfully passed our long distance and fatigue test!

Jochen Undesser aka "Undi", 09/2009:
"My team rider Christan Rapf #41 has tested the tubeless rim very successfully in the last race! He is now overall 2nd place in class 2 of the ESC. Tire pressure was at 1.5bar (21.8psi).Rotation and radial run out were both perfect! All of the ESC boys that are constantly having problems with flat tires consider these rims an awesome idea!"
Mike Betz, GSF, 05/2010:
"fantastic, problem free installation with the normal tire mounting tool, the high quality workmanship of the rim and the exact fit. Weight is also great, normal tire sets are much heavier. A win win situation from the security aspect due to going tubeless. I don't expect to have any flats this year, cause all three sets of tires have been converted to tubeless ;-)"
