Battery acid has to be ordered separately, charge bevor mounting.
Standard batteries are delivered in a pre-charged, dry, state, that is to say that prior to use they must be filled with battery acid (part no 85070000) that is not included with the battery and should therefore be ordered separately.
After you have -very carefully- filled the battery with acid, leave it to settle for about an hour. Then you can safely begin the charging process with an, initially weaker, charge rate with a suitable battery charger. (Quality 'Hella' model part no TR66001) This helps lengthen the total working life of the battery. Following the batteries primary filling with battery acid, this type of battery can be 'topped up' using destilled water and should be checked at least once a month for this purpose. Battery acid should never be added to a battery unit after the initial fill and charge have already taken place. While working with aggressive substances such as battery acid take care to use the correct filling equipment and protective clothing. It is a dangerous substance that effortlessly burns through normal clothing - and then your skin !
SIP-TIP: Do not forget to order the battery acid (part no. : 85070000) and, just in case you do not already own one, a battery charger (Quality 'Hella' model part no. TR66001) both available from stock at our shop.
BATTERY DISPOSAL:
The crossed out rubbish bin on the battery means that batteries may not be disposed of in household waste. They may contain harmful substances that could damage the environment and health. Please hand used batteries to municipal recycling centres. All batteries will be reused. This allows us to recover valuable raw materials and simultaneously protect the environment and health.
