Trofei Season Finale at the ADRIA Raceway / Italy
Cavanella (Italy) – While the 1st final of the Scootermatic South Class is being held in the background on the racing course, the entire Malossi family is gathered in front of the television and excitedly following the MotoGP race in Portugal. Although for the first time the victor in Estoril was not the Italian favourite Valentino Rossi, tribute was subsequently paid to the winner. It is unbelievable how much this family is associated with motor sports. Naturally the participants of the various MALOSSI trophy classes also notice this and thank the organiser with exciting races in all classes.
RSM (Race Service MALOSSI) – This is how the motor sports department of MALOSSI S.p.a. from Bologna – the organiser of the MALOSSI trophies – calls itself. In addition to various Scootermatic classes, RSM also offers a platform for vehicles such as YAMAHA R125, GILERA GP or YAMAHA T-MAX (more info available at trofei.malossi.com).
The annual highlight of the Italian racing season is the final race at the ADRIA Raceway south of Venice. “The 2.7 km long and very fast route demands quite a bit, even from an experienced rider”, says 5-time IDAM champion Thorsten Müller, factory rider of the SIP Scooter Shop, who was provided with a MALOSSI factory vehicle as a German guest rider. The sheltered paddock and modern pit lanes transform participation into something very special for every team.
MALOSSI provided the ultimate glamour through the extensive supporting programme. The racing weekend was initiated on Friday evening with a 4-course gala dinner. Sandro Malossi, marketing director and person responsible for motor sports, congratulated the already established winners of the classes and handed over oversize trophies to the champions. The construction of a special mantelpiece would be worth it for such a trophy.
The training and qualification runs were held on Saturday in the presence of press and television. Even there every second was hotly contested. The public interest on these days was not so strong, but this changed abruptly on race day. The number of two-wheelers parked in front of the racing grounds revealed at the very least that nearly all of the 600 external visitors themselves came to the event on two wheels. The spectators were rewarded for coming to the event with daring overtaking manoeuvres and spectacular falls. Falls which happened in the infield directly in front of the grand stand especially brought about a murmur in the crowd.
But the true heroes of the day were winners of the races who received standing ovations from the spectators and were boisterously acclaimed in their victory lap.
Everyone who takes advantage of the opportunity to take part in a MALOSSI Trofei Cup race as a spectator or rider will be enthralled by the professionalism and wholeheartedness of the event. Because importance is still attached to motor sports in the MALOSSI Trofei Cup, and successes are befittingly honoured with glory.
