Why do we have the Pentecost holidays again? Oh sure... so we can go to Stockach!
Just like every year, the Lakescooters Wahlwies organized the traditional Pentecost Run at the Lake Constance - and the guests came in droves. Saturday and sunday night round about 1500 people came to celebrate and the DJs and liveband did their best to keep everybody in high spirits.
The organising team of the DBM (German geared scooter sprint championship) had a reason to celebrate, too. They had been working hard in the run up to the first race of the season, they updated the rules and regulations and presented many new gimmicks (e.g.: live timing directly on the smartphone).
But they assured us that the increased number of participants (+1/4) and an enthusiastic audience made up for their efforts. The new Streetrace class was also successfully launched. It is especially designed for those who are new to or only recently back on the 1/4 mile.
Results of the 1/4 mile (which was only 300m long this time):
Class 1 (SF Sport): 1. Gerhard Zsiga, 2. Udo Graf, 3. Veit Nübel
Class 1b (SF Oldschool): 1. Salvatore Randazzo, 2. Romeo Napoliello, 3. Jochen Schreiber
Class 2 (177cc): 1. Torsten Dowideit, 2. Moritz Hoffmann, 3. Nico Gnisci
Class 3 (200cc): 1. Jesco Schmidt, 2. Stefan Brodda, 3. Truls Herland
Class 4 (Pro Sports): 1. Gerhard Zsiga, 2. Salvatore Randazzo, 3. Andreas Wrobel
Class 5 (Rotary valve): 1. Jesco Schmidt, 2. Falk Renerken, 3. Marcus Schlieper
Class 6 (Streetracer): 1. Christoph Cramer, 2. Niels Harborth, 3. Matthias Dahl
Best of all: Gerhard Zsiga
All of you who want to race their scooters on the 1/4 mile can do so at the Vesperados Run (Mindelheim, 20.-22. July 2012), where the 2nd DBM race 2012 will take place. SIP TV will also be there of course. For more info visit the website of the DBM or www.vesperados.de.
