SPRINGRACE 2011 (Austria)

Last friday we went to St. Veit an der Glan (Austria), where the 'world's toughest scooter race' took place for the second time.

Round about 40 German and Austrian teams (a mixed starter field, from beginners to ESC pros) had come to leave some rubber on the track.

For the visitors, there was a lot to be done and see (such as sales and info booths, a Super-Moto Show and a Liveband) all around the track.

Unfortunately the weather was rather unsteady and it was pouring down time and time again.

Bad luck for those who had not brought wet tires! Still the drivers pulled the cables and delivered top times below 1.04s.

Congrats to the SIP STOFFIs Racing Team (Stoffi, Pesi, Markus&Pit Crew), who won the race.

The SIP GSF Team was less lucky and had to tinker for what seemed like half of the race. The driver's (Mike, Rob und Phil) performance on the wet and dry track was top, nevertheless.

Also the girls' Team (Sylvie, Isa and guest driver Putzi), who drove Stoffi's SS, was rather unlucky and had to finish early with a busted engine.

Despite the incredible material damage on all sides, people had a lot of fun in Austria and we'd like to thank the organizers, helpers and drivers for a great event.

The final results:

Sonni TV filmed the start. (i.e. the first lap. The start was a flying one rigth afterwards...)
