Last weekend we went to the Motodrom Belleben, where the last race of the ESC season 2010 took place. On friday we had still some doubts that the weather would be fine, but we were lucky again (just like we had been the whole summer through) and the sun was shining brightly on saturday.

Fighting for the last decisive points all drivers were pushing the envelope. Maniac won in c5, Jesco's Lamy ruled c4. Comeback of the summer: Pidi in c7. Newcomer Gucci can look back on a successful first season in c3.
Mike managed to win in c1 and everybody was thrilled to see Marco and Ulf battle in the top class. Unfortunately Robert, one of the top drivers of c2 crashed badly and was not able to finish the race. We wish him the best of luck, a quick recovery and are looking forward to seeing him score again next summer.

On site we noted down this (the exact results are following shortly):
c1: Persch, Dittgen, Hömmes / c2: Büttner, Krapfenbauer, Rapf / c3: Biedermann, Abbate / c4: Schmidt, Engelfried / c5: Betz, Berndt, Wertz / c7: Sperandio, Husfeldt

For the total standings of the championship that means:
c1: Bene
c2: Ulf
c3: Mizi
c4: Lutz
c5: Markus
c7: Julia
We'd like to say thanks to Alex and his siter and all those who helped them with the organisation of this great event. To the marshals and paramedics, to the djs and Olaf (for the Berlin shout).
Also a big thank you to all the pilots, helpers, visitors, pitbabes, mechanics (especially Erwi) and everybody who contributed to this wonderful racing season 2010.

Many of the drivers are going to switch classes and meet new competition there next season. The rules are going to see some changes (e.g. 12" in the largeframe class) and there are going to be a lot of young, ambitious drivers fighting for the top positions. The ESC keeps getting more and more interesting. We are already very excited about the upcoming season 2011 and hope it is going to be equally successful and even another bit more international (with an official race in Mirecourt/France) and professional (as the ESC is now part of the DMV).
