Vespa PX: The myth is alive and there's a rumor that the legendary handshifted Italian scooter will be in production again soon. We found the following article on the Italian website www.moto.it:

The success of the Indian 'PX' (the LML Star that is successfully sold in Europe) apparently surprised Pontedera. From January to June, LML sold an impressive number of 2500 scooters (125cc and 150cc models) in Italy. The article quotes a staffmember of PIAGGIO, saying that it was well possible that the new Vespa PX could already be presented on the IMOT (Cologne / October 2010). Technically, the production could easily start: There were two assembly lines for the Vespa PX: One of them was sold to India years ago, but the other one is still in Pontedera - ready to run again - ready to revive the legend. Wether the new vespa is going to have a 2- or a 4-stroke engine, (or both, like the LML), wether there are going to be 125cc and or 200cc models - all that's a wild guess. We'll keep you update here and we're excited, how this story going to continue...
