Attention all Smallframe riders! The new 136cc MALOSSI MK II is finally available, complete with a newly configured port layout. The redesigned boost ports stand out immediately. The transfers, the cylinder manifold opening, everything is bigger! Just one look and you can already anticipate the noticeable increase in available power. The new 136cc cylinder for the Vespa 50-125/PK 50-125 models can, similar to the predecessor version, be used with a conventionally mounted disc-valve or cylinder mounted reed-valve assembly. If you choose the disc-valve set up, a new sealing cover is also included in the kit. The new design of the direct inlet no longer allows the use of the manifolds that were compatible with the MK I version. MALOSSI have produced a MK II manifold for this purpose. The overall height of the new cylinder has been reduced by 1mm, in comparison to the previous version, which has a positive effect on the port timings. The whole kit is rounded off with the inclusion of the all-new cylinder head, with its centring studs, exclusively compatible with the MK II cylinder.

 

Conclusion: An ideal plug and play cylinder, with the maximum conceivable bore of 57.5mm. This kit allows the choice between a disc-valve or barrel-mounted reed-valve carburettor system, according to your particular needs. Perfect for all the rpm junkies amongst the Vespisti, who get goose-pimples at the very thought of the performance only MALOSSI can provide. If you need an even bigger kick, dust out your dremel drill to open up the ports and modify the cylinder heads combustion area. The set up can be further optimised with the inclusion of a suitable GRAND-SPORT racing piston.

 

Info: Regrettably, the MK II manifold only allows the use of a maximum carburettor size of 24/25mm. The inclusion of a carburettor of 30mm or more requires a FALC RACING or PARMAKIT manifold, conventionally mounted on the disc-valve opening on Vespa V 50/PV/ET-3 models.

 

Cast-iron / 57.5mm bore / 7 transfer ports / 132.43cc

Cast-iron cylinder, 51mm stroke, 7 transfer ports, piston including two 1.5mm thick piston rings, 6mm outlet studs, original MALOSSI cylinder head included in the kit, 11.4:1 compression ratio, includes full gasket set. The carburettors jets should be checked and adjusted before use. This kit is compatible with all Vespa PV/ET-3/PK/XL/XL-2 models (apart from the PK automatic). The transfer port inlets on the crankcase should be modified to match those on the cylinder.

 

SIP-TIP : A larger main jet and a new spark plug are necessary for safe and enduring use of this cylinder. Additional performance enhancing peripheral components such as a race crankshaft with 20/20 or 24/25 sized crankshaft stubs, a suitable race exhaust from PM, VSP or a FRANZ, a performance ignition system by MALOSSI, VESPATRONIC or PARMAKIT, a 20-24mm DELL`ORTO or MIKUNI carburettor and a primary drive gear with a ratio of between 2.86 – 2.34 should also be included to optimally exploit the potential of this cylinder kit. Optionally a MMW modified MALOSSI cylinder head (for POLINI or MALOSSI) can also be fitted along with a piston produced by GRAND-SPORT.
