Production vehicles are equipped with a CDI that limits the peak revs. This guarantees that 50cc engines comply with legal speed limits and protects the components of engines with a larger cubic capacity. Modifications to the ignition system are thus a particularly promising field of tuning.
Instead of your original CDI you can use one of the three exchange units offered by MALOSSI. Designed for 50cc AC 2-stroke engines, the TC Units are easily mounted and will fit plug and play. The TC Unit K15 RPM Control is the ideal choice for those who want to stick to a speed limiter. You can easily adjust the maximum speed via rotary potentiometer. The speed limiter is (de)activated by a small rocking lever.
For water-cooled L.E.A.D.E.R. engines MALOSSI offers the PVM Digitronic. Available for scooters with or without immobiliser. For scooters with immobiliser the CDI comes in a modified version (for the LED display).
