The DRT outer friction plates are manufactured to a precise degree with minimal tolerances. This enables a very clean separation of the clutch plates, an improvement in power delivery and a more easily controllable clutch dosage.
The plates are CNC milled from tempered and nitrified steel. They are available for both main small frame motor clutch types. Due to the larger size of this clutch conversion, thicker friction and plain plates can be used or also an increased number of thinner plates, for a larger frictional area. The large range of varying thicknesses of both friction and plain plates makes almost endless experimental combinations possible and is also actively encouraged! A cleaner separation of the clutch plates is made possible due to the extra space available. For clutch plate combinations including 5 or more plates the DRT clutch basket should also be used.
There is also a version available for the Vespa 50-125/PV/ET-3 with the original three friction plates or the basic sport/race clutch with the 4 x 1.9mm thick friction plates.
NOTE: If you choose to use standard plain plates, they should be converted to the DRT specifications supplied. The standard clutch basket also requires reworking when fitted with DRT product.
