Speedometer SIP for Vespa
shell-shaped, Ø 112x69 mm,
face: white, blue numbers,
ring: chrome, emblem: old
Almost all Vespa models produced in the 60s had a fan shaped speedometer, even if the head light was square. Due to this we have a huge range of speedo's available, for many different Vespa mod-els. Considering the numerous speedo face colours also at hand, the customisers and restorers out there are spoilt for choice! All of these PIAGGIO speedos are adorned with the earlier shield-shaped PIAGGIO logo. All speedos are supplied with a chromed mounting surround. To assist you in the choice of speedos in your project the speedos are listed next to their corresponding models in which they were originally supplied.
On the whole if the speedos have the same dimensions, they are completely interchangeable. This has the advantage that, if your sitting on a rod model Vespa with a fire-breathing PX motor installed, then you will definitely need a speedo that tells you your exact speed when you are traveling at more than 100 km/h. This does not just look good, also tends to soothe government vehicle inspectors, worldwide! The speedos from Vespa models with square headlights can only be fitted to round headlight headsets when the appropriate mounting assembly is also used.
SIP-TIP: Never forget to order the correct mounting assembly.
SIP-TIP 2 : Regrettably PIAGGIO now only stock the speedometer faces for certain models of Vespa. To provide a solution we supply an experienced fine mechanics firm with good quality reproduction speedometers to be fitted with these original speedometer faces and also thoroughly tested before delivery. This enables the use of a quality speedometer unit with a totally original appearance, without having to resort to cheap imitation items in the desire for an authentic look.
