Due to the extensive modifications it can be possible that a hole on the exterior has no material, which has absolutely no effect on the functionality at all.
The PIAGGIO thrust plate of the PK XL2 clutch includes a ball bearing mechanism. This enables a much larger rev-range and works almost friction free. The unintentional welding of the brass pushrod and the thrust plate is therefore almost impossible , friction is minimised and jerky clutch operation can be prevented. This thrust plate is necessary for all PK XL2 clutch conversions.
The thrust plate is also available in a SIP produced version, for all other Vespas. The bearing is positioned over the original thrust plate.
