If you restore a long neglected Vespa motor then you will often find the crankshaft immobilised due to rust or corrosion. The bearings and oil seals are often worn out and woodruff key recesses are no longer serviceable. If you are overhauling your motor and your existing crankshaft displays any of these signs of age, it should be replaced.

SIP-TIP: New crankshaft bearings, oil seals and the suitable woodruff keys, gasket set, nuts, safety washers are a must. To make the job a lot easier we also have all relevant crankshaft assembly tools available at our shop (PART No 27338000, 21071000, 18119000).

The above mentioned inlet port timings are measured while looking at the crankshaft with the clutch shaft facing away from the person measuring it. For example '138°/6° after Top Dead Centre' (TDC) means the inlet opens at 6° after TDC and remains open for another 138°.
Please consider that the given inlet port timings are not always 100% accurate, due to the fact that these crankshafts being modified by hand!
