Lauro Cafforio has dominated the Sprint Series of races in recent years, equipped with a motor set up providing a mighty 56mm of stroke! In respect of these achievements we have finally completed our range of available cylinder kits. This FALC produced cylinder kit has helped the company set several new records in the 'Record campianionato Italiano accelerazione'.
This cylinder is available with two differently dimensioned bore diameters, one with a 58mm bore and the other with 64mm. Combined with a 56mm stroke crankshaft this provides either 148 or 180cc respectively. The crankshaft requires a con-rod length of 110mm, such as the item produced by BSG. The inlet manifold is incorporated into the design of this high-end cylinder, which also features a six-petal reed valve block, enormously dimensioned transfer ports and an equally huge, bridged exhaust port. A version of the smaller 148cc cylinder can also be used as part of a motor set up to enable a 180° reversed exhaust outlet!
To make this possible the crankcases require extra material to be added by welding and modification to match the transfer ports properly. The shape of the inlet manifold is designed to be compatible with the frame dimensions of the Vespa V50 / PV / ET-3 models, although we recommend the inlet manifold opening in the frame be enlarged to suit the increased size of the FALC item. These modifications are also necessary when fitting a motor equipped with this kit into a Vespa PK frame.
Conclusion : A brute force performance of over 30 PS is possible with this cylinder kit!

Aluminium cylinder with a plated bore, 56mm stroke, 110mm con rod, two large bridged transfer ports either side, manifold design includes extra 'Boysen' booster ports, six-petal reed valve, plated high-performance piston with a single piston ring, bridged exhaust port, 8mm exhaust studs with 60mm spacing, airflow optimised cylinder head featuring the original PIAGGIO spark plug positioning, this kit includes all necessary gaskets and an inlet manifold including 'stuffers'. This high-end cylinder kit deserves combination with suitable peripheral components in order to exploit its full potential.
SIP-TIP: Crankshaft with 110mm con-rod and 56mm stroke, FALC racing exhaust, carburettor with a diameter of at least 34mm necessary. Specialised internal gearbox components are produced by BSG, along with a set of reinforced crankcases, providing an ideal platform for such a high performance tuning project.
