Crankcases FALC flywheel side,
for Vespa 50-125/PV/ET3/PK50
FOR RACE USE ONLY
The smallframe Vespa models are especially popular amongst the Vespisti. Due to the fact that they are rather slow, in their original form, they are often tuned. The basis of these tuning measures is provided by the crankcase. As with many other smallframe components, the crankcases and whole motor units are becoming increasingly rare and expensive with it! A bonus then that not only SIP, but also high-end tuners such as FALC or QUATTRINI are helping to turn the tide.
This strengthened and modified smaller crankcase half, produced by Lauro Caforio for FALC RACING, can be combined with the larger original crankcase half of the smallframe motor. The larger bearing seats allow the larger 52x25x15mm bearings (ETS crankshaft bearings) to be used and with it the more stable crankshaft from the Vespa ETS model. These dimensions allow a crankshaft with a minimum width of 38mm to be fitted.
Important: Prior to final assembly the right-hand side of the crankcase (FALC) and the left-hand (original) should be fitted together to check that the gasket surface areas match exactly and that the shaft openings line up correctly.
Conclusion: Excellent basis for a more stable ETS crankshaft upgrade.
SIP-TIP : Do not forget to order a gasket set, oil seals, shaft bearings (#90051000 or #90050000), woodruff keys and gearbox oil! A new crankcase half also deserves fresh fastenings.
