Crankcases QUATTRINI C-200

Max QUATTRINI has also turned his attentions to the production of an improved crankcase for smallframe Vespa models, to satisfy the needs of those wanting to assemble a truly high end motor.

 

The 'C 200' crankcase halves are constructed on the basis of the already established 'QUATTRINI RR' series, produced using a G-Alu10 alloy. These motors feature a closed reed-valve manifold inlet-port which can easily be opened if necessary. This eliminates the need for the inlet to be sealed when using a cylinder-mounted reed-valve assembly. The crankshaft bearing seats are compatible with 52x25x15 mm (C4) bearings. The extra width of the primary compression area of these crankcases allows the use of the '200' crankshaft, also produced by QUATTRINI. It also possesses a larger diameter cylinder base opening.

 

The design of the swing-arm provides sufficient clearance for the use of 3.50x10 sized tyres and the embossed QUATTRINI logo, displayed on the flywheel-side crankcase half, proudly displays its high-tech sporting heritage.

 

The crankcase is specially designed for combination with the QUATTRINI M 200 cylinder kit and they are, wider than standard, '200' crankshaft with a 116 conrod. Max recommends that the bearing should be heated before it is mounted onto the crankshafts stub. To guarantee a tight all-round seal, LOCTITE 510 liquid gasket should also be used during assembly.

 

Conclusion: High-end crankcase halves for smallframe riders with largeframe wallets!

 

SIP-TIP : To fully exploit the potential of these motor-halves a QUATTRINI crankshaft is essential. Do not forget to order suitable bearings, oil-seals, engine mounting rubbers, woodruff-keys and gearbox oil (Max recommends 500ml)!
