Racing Exhaust SIP Performance

The “SIP Basterd” demonstrator was originally fitted with the French “RS Performance Curley”. Due to our preference for stainless steel exhaust systems and annoying delivery problems with the French curly, we decided to have our own “SIP Performance Curly” put into production. Our favourite “expansion chamber man” Jim Lomas took the existing “RZ Righthand” exhaust system and recreated it into a masterpiece of multi-tapered expansion chamber construction, resembling the more performance orientated small frame motor systems such as the “ZIRRI SILENT CORSA”. The sporting tone and equally sporting performance is also similar to that of other lefthand exit performance exhaust systems. Due to the more “open” design of this curly exhaust system the sparewheel holder assembly will have to be removed prior to mounting. The use of a glovebox in your left hand sidepanel is also no longer possible.

Conclusion: This “SIP Performance Curley” rewards with an extremely improved left hand cornering clearance combined with a very extravagant and eye catching design.

The main stand can be retained but you can no longer mount wider section tyres or carry a spare wheel.

Carburettor jetting and ignition timing should be checked and/or readjusted during assembly for optimal and enduring performance.

 

SIP-TIP: Cylinder kits of 139cc and more are ideal in combination with a carburettor diameter of 24mm. Taller gears, carburettor with diameter of 28mm and a strengthened or reinforced clutch assembly complete the optimal motor setup.
