Racing Cylinder POLINI 208cc

Steam hammer POLINI punches it's 208cc with brutal power out of the basement instead of simply speed. POLINI Pulls through alpine passes or quarter milers like a freight train!

Urban street cowboys with a penchant for wheelies and powerful starts will have fun with this, tour pilots on extended tours or longer full throttle trips should try a 28/30mm carburetor. POLINI has been called undependable by some, though we beg to differ. Although, piston play is cut pretty close with 10/100mm, even an original PIAGGIO cylinder has 12/100mm piston play. Here, you'll get a torque tractor with plenty of power direct from down below. POLINI is delivered without a cylinder head. A modified cylinder head is especially important with POLINI, in order to avoid thermal overload! Best would be a MMW head. To assure better heat dispersion, spray the cylinder black.

The newest POLINI pistons come with a second piston ring, type L-ring. Even better would be a GRAND SPORT piston: high quality material, a special piston coating and the 1.0mm piston ring qualifies the cylinder for long distance stretches and enables exhaust modification.

If that's not enough: the SERIE PRO Version comes with a GRAND SPORT 208er piston, pre-tuned. The results are improved durability and better performance than a standard kit.

The POLOSSI Version from W5 in the SERIE PRO line, comes with this piston instead of the POLINI piston in a complete modified MALOSSI 210er: piston play 0.13mm. The 3rd cylinder base window is enlarged and the exhaust modified. This version promises power plus and durability.

Conclusion: The 208cc POLINI is priced attractively with max torque and good performance. Modification of transfer ducts in engine block is an absolute necessity and the cylinder must be carefully modified and broken in.


Cast iron/ 68mm bore/ 7 transfers/ 207.01ccm

Cast iron cylinder, 57mm stroke, 7 transfers, piston with 2 piston rings, upper ring L-ring, compression 10.6:1, incl. base gasket.

The motor block should be modified for the larger cylinder transfers. Jets, ignition and piston play should be checked and optimized.


SIP TIP! W3CC spark plugs, ignition adjustment 19-20°, main jet SI 24/24E 125-128 and modified cylinder head are a must. 28/30er carburetor,racing exhaust SITO Plus/Italian ones, LUSSO 3 clutch, race/long stroke shaft recommended, to dream for: English racing exhaust such as SIP/JL/SCORPION, 30-36 reed valve carburetor kit, full circle/lip shaft and electronic ignition..... to strike fear in the hearts of run of the mill vehicles.
