The Monza cylinder kit is not only outwardly familiar in appearance to the aforementioned TS 1 but, with its aluminium construction and nicasil lined barrel, also an equal on technological terms. The piston rings are of a durable, high quality construction, allowing further enlargement work on all relevant port outlets surrounding the piston ring area during its movement up and down the barrel. The reed valve assembly can be mounted deep within the cylinder construction, so leaving more room under the 'panels to mount (even) larger carburettors :-).
The Monza cylinder promises 'Plug and Play' performance of just about 20 PS at the rear wheel, the 225cc cylinder even more, with 22 ps. The solid build of the base gasket face area offers more than adequate material for extensive porting work, so making any extra welding before porting unnecessary. All this and more makes the Monza cylinder an ideal basis for your next LAMBRETTA tuning project.
